COVID-19 ACTION PLAN
OUR CORE VALUES
as a church at this unique time:
WE ARE THE CHURCH
We strive to continue doing the Lord’s work and ministering to each other and our community.
WE ARE WISE AND NOT ANXIOUS
We will be a peaceful presence in our community, not one that operates out of fear or panic.
WE ARE PART OF OUR COMMUNITY
We are respectful of what the Government is telling us to do to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
WE CARE FOR THOSE AROUND US
We make those who are most susceptible feel safe, loved, and not forgotten. This especially includes the elderly, the vulnerable, and those in need.
We have to remember that many of us who are not as susceptible could easily be asymptomatic carriers, so we want to limit potential exposure to those who are at risk.
WE ARE WISE STEWARDS
We encourage everyone not to hoard unnecessarily, and to continue to look for opportunities to share with our neighbors, especially if we find ourselves with a little more than someone else.
We understand it is likely the church will experience financial changes as many will find their financial income compromised. We encourage continued giving of tithes and offerings as all are able to give.
our plan and next steps:
All in-person church-related gatherings are cancelled at least through the end of March, and possibly longer depending on the progression of the virus and the recommendations handed down by both the CDC and the White House.
This includes Sunday School groups, morning services, Sunday evening youth group, and Wednesday Night groups and activities, as well as any additional events planned throughout the week at the church building.
Given these cancellations, we are developing creative ways for children, teens, and adults to still engage in worship, prayer, learning, and study of God’s Word as a community of faith. You will learn more about these opportunities as they are produced.
We encourage church members to stay in their homes on Sunday mornings and gather with their families to participate in worship online. The online videos can be found at the following links:
We encourage the practice of “Social Distancing.” It is necessary to leave home for essentials and we encourage continued safe social distancing and the following of CDC guidelines. Some practices to remember: make sure to give each other plenty of space, practice proper and responsible hygiene (washing hands, covering mouth to sneeze or cough, etc.), and avoid hugging or shaking hands.
We encourage church goers to make phone calls to check in on those who are elderly, vulnerable, and in need. We want to not only protect those who are vulnerable, but make sure they are not forgotten. If those who are more vulnerable need help getting groceries or running errands we will work together to take care of these needs..
We encourage continued giving of tithes and offerings.
